A Misplaced Couch
I normally spend about a third of my day on freeways. In that time, I see a lot of non-motorized objects on the road: tire treads and tire rims; plastic bags and [full] garbage bags; used flares and used flairs; two-by-fours and plywood to match. I've seen a motley mix of stuff. A few days ago, I saw a couch in the right lane of I-5. A full-sized couch, sitting upright, blocking the lane.
(No, Jay and I didn't put it there.)
At times like those, I wish I wasn't working. So that I could forget the couch made my trip from downtown to Tigard almost twice as long. So that I could pull over, sit on the couch, and take pictures of the oncoming traffic. So that I could break out a bag of potato chips, a can of Spaghetti-Os, and a case of PBR and hang out like urbanized white trash.
